ABSTRACT
Of fundamental importance to m odem commercial practice is the requirement of businesses to comply with the various laws relating to environmental pollution. The need for firms in the UK to comply with environmental law steadily increases with die passage of time. After very briefly looking at the historical development of the law, this chapter examines the main areas of environmental law, together with the public agencies responsible for enforcing die law.
