ABSTRACT
While there is no particular theme to this volume the papers do concentrate, in the main, on contemporary issues. For example, trade relations, exchange rate movements, privatisation, labour markets, occupational mobility and poverty and environmental issues. One paper deals with P N Mathur’s economic ideas; in particular his contribution to the theory of layers of technique. For ease of presentation the papers are grouped in appropriate parts.
