ABSTRACT

The Launch pad phase is the aspect of a business process management (BPM) activity from which one or more BPM programs/projects are launched. This chapter discusses how to identify a BPM opportunity and how to start the BPM activity. It also discusses how to ensure that one have identified and engaged with key stakeholders and how to ensure that all stakeholders and their expectations are matched and understood by all. The chapter describes the completion of the executive workshop and the creation and agreement of: process goals; the likely process governance structure or approach; and the priorities for the Understand phase. The Launch pad phase is the platform from which BPM activities are scoped, established and launched. This phase provides the platform from which BPM activities are launched. The executives hope that the employee satisfaction will increase and the employee churn will decrease.
