ABSTRACT
Hélène (Jerusalem). Daughter of the Count of Toulouse. The role of Hélène replaces that of Giselda in I Lombardi. The roles are, however quite distinct from each other. Where Giselda discovers her love for Oronte through her captivity in Acciano’s harem, Hélène knows where her love lies before she ever travels to Palestine, indeed before the action of the opera commences.
