ABSTRACT

Alignment and cooperation across every dimension of project operations will enable the Change Management and Project Management joint proposition to add value and raise those project success rates. This chapter describes that each of the six Project and Change Partnership project phases is taken in turn to demonstrate the integration of Project Management and Change Management across project lifecycle, team structure, culture, benefits and measures, expertise, activities, work packages and tools. The sponsor as overall project lead and owner sits at the top of the project hierarchy. Project team cultural assumptions define the shared mind-set that informs how the project team gets things done. Once the broader team is established, this management model must be communicated and documented, together with these requirements and cultural assumptions, so that the people do not apply their own conflicting interpretations. The Project Manager will work with the Steering Committee to clarify the Gateway Review Board role, responsibilities, expectations and time commitments.
