ABSTRACT
This chapter traces China’s historical involvement in global governance. It introduces this concept according to four stages of periods. The first one is the history before the First Opium War to Britain’s invasion of China, and the 2nd one is the history during the First Opium War to the Revolution of 1911. The third period is from the Revolution of 1911 to the foundation of the People’s Republic of China in 1949. And the last period is after the foundation of the People’s Republic of China.
