ABSTRACT
In thinking about the language of Christianity, I begin with the most difficult topic of all, because fundamental to everything else, our speaking about God, and then I turn to Story, to Image and what I call Giving the Sign. I suggest we look at Christian faith as a code book for picking up signals of transcendence, and the question is how are we to pick up those signals and interpret the code?
