ABSTRACT
I take my first text from the first of the seven – sometimes eight – greater antiphons that quicken the pace of Advent in the last seven days before Christmas, and my second text from the eighth and last. These antiphons frame the singing of the Magnificat at the Evening Office, and are known as the ‘Os’ because they all begin with ‘O’.
