BALANCE SHEET CHANGES: COLUMNAR ANALYSIS So far we have been content to record, one by one, the effect of each transaction on the profit and loss account and balance sheet. Clearly, this approach could not serve for the numerous transactions which affect even quite small companies in the course of a year.
