ABSTRACT
The Espoo Convention is the most promising Convention focusing on potential
transboundary pollution from planned activities in the Arctic. This is due to the fact
that it has been signed by all eight Arctic states. Moreover, it covers the most
important activities carried out in the Arctic and is of a high quality in comparison
with the older prior transboundary procedures.
