ABSTRACT

The culture of rural living is an organic conglomerate including families, infants and children, adolescents, women, men, the elderly, indigenous populations, veterans, refugees and undocumented individuals, victims of domestic violence, migrant workers, incarcerated, LGBT, and physical and intellectual disabled and homeless people. Each of these components of rural culture is explored. Weapons ownership is also discussed. Poverty is persistent in rural areas and many cannot find their way out of it, causing it to be intergenerational. Case studies are included.
