ABSTRACT

Before the inspection begins, nominees will attend a conference where they can meet inspectors and representatives of other providers about to be inspected. This conference will give detailed information about the background to the Training Standards Council, the scope of inspection and the process itself. The nominee will have their normal work to do during the inspection but, for this period only, they must work around the inspection. One of the nominee's principal tasks is to organise the visits to trainees. The timetable for visits must minimise travel and other wasted time. If the start of a day is disrupted or delayed, inspectors will see this as a lack of organisation. There may be a perfectly genuine reason for the problem, but inspectors know that such disruptions are sometimes delaying tactics. Whatever the reason, the inspectors may see the organisation as either disorganised or devious - neither of which is desirable.
