ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overall view of key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book is about research. It is about the practical realities encountered in all kinds of research. It is about what lies at the foundations of these realities in all research fields, which are often taken for granted. The book is about problems that challenge all fields, though manifested differently in each, many being hidden but which we feel intuitively. It looks at research in its wider context, and discusses theoretical thought itself. The book offers practical guidance in research, based on experience, and calls on researchers to join the adventures with Herman Dooyeweerd’s philosophy.
