ABSTRACT
The devolution of certain decision-making powers to the Celtic countries which make up the periphery of the United Kingdom - Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland - will have significant impact on how policy is implemented in the future. This is particularly so in the governance of transport. The devolved governments are seeking integrated transport policies of their own and this objective is currently curtailed by those key decisions still made in London.
