ABSTRACT
Sculptor in steel. Born in Birmingham, he studied at Nelson Hall Teachers' Training College, Birmingham College of Arts and Crafts and Bradford University (MSc., 1980), and has lectured. Solo or several-person exhibitions were held at Birmingham University, Midlands Art Centre, Leeds City Art Gallery, New Vision Centre and Alwin Gallery, Mixed shows include the Paris Salon, London Group, Commonwealth Institute, Royal West of England Academy and Royal Birmingham Society of Artists. He was elected RBSA (1966) and elected to the RBS (1967). His pieces, often in rust-proofed steel, are based on natural forms. His early sculptures were influenced by Lynn Chadwick, with whom he worked. Winged Symbol is in the Birmingham City Art Gallery.
