ABSTRACT
Having considered network management over the last two chapters, we turn next to a second topic central to managing capacity: fleet management. Traditionally, fleet planning has focused on aircraft acquisition. Many large airlines now take a broader view, with fleet management encompassing:
• aircraft acquisition and financing; • tactical fleet management; • asset value maintenance; and • trading.
