ABSTRACT

Summary: This paper maps out those contours of the Internet which require policing and then it illustrates the implications for policing. The first part establishes why the cyberspace, created by the Internet, needs to be policed by exploring what we currently understand as a “cybercrime”. The second part goes on to look at who is actually policing cyberspace and how they are going about it. The final part considers some of the organisational and constitutional implications for the policing agencies that tread the cyberbeat.
