ABSTRACT

An abandonment of materialistic animism will enable the revolutionary science to defend itself in a true way against religious belief. Abandoning the Marxian philosophy will also put the revolution in a true attitude towards art and poetry. The present attitude is to declare that, since the essential general reality of life and history is the economic class struggle, there can be no real art or poetry which is irrelevant to it. A practical science of revolution would also abandon the irresponsible Marxian generalizations about morals. Moral precepts will naturally vary, not only according to the maturity of the intelligence— the degree to which responsible judgment has replaced mere social custom— but also according to the conditions of each particular problem. In the Marxian religion, all moral ideals change completely with a revolution in these forces and relations, the good becoming evil and the evil good.
