ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 explores the link between leadership, innovation and knowledge management. We include both examples of individual leaders and leadership teams and groups and recognize that leadership can, and should be exercised at any level in the organization. Using examples from the military and business, we explain what leadership is and show some basic characteristics that have proven successful. This chapter, as well as most of the others concludes with practical applications as well as “lessons learned” from our interviews with combat Veterans.
