ABSTRACT
The world, we are constantly told, is getting smaller. National sovereignty is in decline, protectionism is disappearing, regionalism and globalisation are the big issues in modem policy. As global ‘distances’ shrink, the laws and legal systems of the world’s nation states exert an increasing gravitational pull on each other. No longer are there clear definitions of, or a distinction between, what is domestic law and what is international law.
