ABSTRACT
The most notable manifestation in the connexion is the growth of our metallurgical industry. In speaking of the metallurgical industry we are entitled to say that the period of stagnation is passed, and that the industry is now rapidly advancing. Comrade Dzherzhinsky is right when he declares that country can and must become one of those in which the metallurgical industry occupies a premier place. The growth of our metallurgical industry is the gauge of the growth of our industry in general, of whole economic system. Lenin, writing of "heavy industry", by which he mainly meant metallurgical industry, said: We know that a good harvest does not suffice for the wellbeing of Russia any more than an ample production of petty wares providing the peasants with articles of consumption is sufficient. Such is the international significance of the expansion of our industry in general, and the growth of our metallurgical industry in particular.
