ABSTRACT

Assessment is integral to the therapeutic process. It is essential to identify criminal justice involved persons with mental illness (CJ-PMI) risk for relapse as well as to guide treatment planning. Furthermore, in Changing Lives and Changing Outcomes (CLCO), assessment is critical to visually show CJ-PMI their problem areas. Thus, assessments will be administered throughout the program. Therapists have elected to use a pre-post assessment process. That is, they will assess participants before they start the treatment program, as well as after they complete the program. In addition, therapists utilize a pre-post modular quiz to assess content mastery from each module. Thus, therapists recommend administer a battery of assessment measures pre-post for the entire treatment program, as well as pre-post quizzes for eight of the treatment modules. Modular quizzes will be used to assess for client content acquisition. To assess knowledge acquisition, therapists have pre-post quizzes for each module except Module I, "Preparing for Change".
