ABSTRACT

This chapter summarizes the concepts discussed in the part two of this book. The part consists of multifaceted ideas presented by numerous contributors from different part of the world, from different time epochs and representing different scientific and philosophical positions. Despite huge differences in sources of inspiration, perspectives and topics focused on, it is surprising how they agree when it comes to understanding problems and suggested solutions. The variety could be illustrated by the different concepts used to characterize the new economy: socio-economics, dignity economics, living economy, sacred economics, Buddhist economics, bio-economics, evolutionary economics, peace economics and many more. The different articulations of ecological economics are all in to varying degrees inspired by the four sources of inspiration: thermodynamics, Darwinism, anthroposophy and Buddhism. The part provides valuable contributions to developing a utopian narrative, telling a story that we live in an organic world where we are integrated parts in the web of life. The mechanical parts are interpreted in an organic context.
