ABSTRACT

The term “everyday violence” is used here to refer to those acts of interpersonal violence to which we have become so accustomed that we accept them as part of everyday life. Sabo et al. (2014) use the term “everyday violence” in the context of acts of violence which have become normalised in the lives of those who are exposed to and experience such acts. This form of violence includes acts such as aggressive driving, animal cruelty, bullying at school and in the workplace, and the corporal punishment of children.
