ABSTRACT

Managers working in a unionized setting who understand and properly manage their workforce will put themselves and their organizations at a competitive advantage over those who do not invest the proper time managing labor relations. Labor peace keeps businesses moving forward in a position of strength, and if workers are satisfied, presumably they are more productive. In fact, the National Labor Relations Act was enacted by Congress to achieve industrial peace. Congress created labor laws to develop an environment that balanced the rights and interests of workers and employers.
