ABSTRACT

Managing human resources effectively is an essential component of gaining a competitive advantage in the sport marketplace. Managers from the very largest multinational corporations to the smallest domestic businesses claim that managing people effectively is vital to being competitive in today’s marketplace (Jackson, Schuler, & Werner, 2013). Highly motivated employees who are treated with respect and concern are integral to the success of any enterprise. Therefore, we discuss the legal issues pertaining to contract and tort concerns with employees in sport organizations to enhance your ability to make wise managerial decisions that are well founded on legal principles. Concern for doing the right thing legally can translate into a more effective and efficient sport business.
