ABSTRACT
This chapter summarises the argument that Seleukid coinage was designed to enhance the legitimacy of the Seleukid king as the rightful ruler. It then gives a brief summary of how this tendency shifted from regional syncretism to familial line in the last century of Seleukid rule.
