ABSTRACT

The theory of the multiple realities gives rise to numerous implications and poses new questions to social theory. In this chapter, I explore the problems related to the relationships between finite provinces of meaning along with their dynamical, constitutional, and morphological characters. Particularly, I study some of the problematic aspects of the the sociological concepts of action, crucial to interpretive sociology, in the context of ‘cross-provincial’ action and interaction. Here, I make use of various hints and ideas from such thinkers as Thomas Luckmann, George Lakoff, Mark Johnson, Arpad Szakolczai, Slavoj Žižek, or Erving Goffman.
