ABSTRACT
This chapter illustrates the practical use of a number of tools for assessing the economics of wildlife in dryland savannas in southern Africa. These include gross and net margin analysis of wildlife and livestock enterprises, long-term ecological and economic case studies, policy analysis matrices, and visitor expenditure multiplier analyses. Together, the results of these analyses provide a strong case for rewilding drylands to create jobs, make profits, and expand the economy.
