ABSTRACT

The basic argument in this chapter is the proposition that economic growth could be identified in the spatial reflection of a branch structures and profiles. The composition tells the tale of success, muddling through or phasing out, or most probably a combination of all three. It also tells a story about what to expect in a not-to-distant future. It is the result of combinations of external and internal processes, all over the range of micro, meso and macro. The composition of structure and process address and/or create a scope of policies, relevant for change and achievement. An analytical form of value chains, emphasising where extraction, production and refinement takes place and, where riches are hoarded.
