ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts covered in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book posits one growth fundamental which is mass participation. Mass participation, the investability of the future, as well as the willingness of economic actors to invest into the future, all these growth fundamentals are deeply and intricately related to the three growth drivers namely, institution, scale and productivity. It considers tripartite framework to examine its ramifications and to explain different growth phenomena. The "tripartite" framework of growth-drivers also throws light on the stages of growth and development experienced by both the emerging nations and the developed ones. The book outlines three fundamental statements about the conditions of sustainable growth. It shows that the joint effects of these three growth drivers go a long way to explaining many growth phenomena and predicting the growth pathways of nations.
