When prospective educators are asked why they want to become teachers. There is much more to being a good teacher than enjoying kids, but that love is still in the heart of a good teacher. Fulfilled teachers love their subject, and they love their students. Fourth-grade teacher Lori Elliott shares her response to a student who wonders why she teaches. When it came time to head back to school, Kelly's parents asked him if he would like to ride back with them instead of on the bus. Cindie Hendrix, high school English teacher, says she loves teenagers— in her classroom and in her family. "Those teenage years are the most fun," she says. Grammar, writing, and vocabulary prepare them to be efficient in the world of college and work; however, literature teaches them about life. The school where the work has a career education program that teaches students about a variety of careers.
