ABSTRACT

Often we begin by changing the way we think; other times it is easiest first to change our actions. The saying is, "The person who is doing most of the work in the classroom is the person who is doing most of the learning." A classroom without challenges does not exist. Ginny have learned that it is better for his own mental health and satisfaction if he can identify a particular frustration and then focus on the choices he have in dealing with it. We spent time talking as he shared the goals he had for the men in his class. Working with this man had seemed like an immense challenge when he began, but when Calvin found that he had been accepted for a work release program and began making preparations to leave, he realized how much of a blessing he had become in the teaching.
