ABSTRACT
T his chapter introduces you to integrating literacy in the content areas. We place special emphasis on utilizing techniques to help students become strategic readers. These techniques include the directed reading-thinking activity, graphic organizers, semantic feature analysis, and semantic mapping. You will also learn about using social literacy activities in the classroom.
