ABSTRACT

Each of the main subjects to be found in school curricula is treated briefly, with just a few examples of their connection with museums to give a flavour of the work that could be done. Language work falls into two broad categories - native language, and modern and classical foreign languages. Although some aspects of mathematics are probably more relevant to archaeology - and by association to museums - there is a considerable overlap. Museums can provide a wealth of information on local history, social history, costume and prop design, set design, correct ways of carrying and using objects and so on. Museums may have collections of musical instruments and artefacts relating to specific musicians and composers. If physical well-being is catered for, so too must spiritual and religious well-being. Aspects of information technology can also be taught in a museum context.
