ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on what magnetism equation really is. Customers are drifting around aimlessly like Bedouins wandering in the desert while the staff is clustered behind the register complaining about management. Employees who are a poor fit are either quickly terminated or they pack their bags and hit the trail in search of a company where slackers rarely get noticed. Nonprofits rely heavily on referrals for volunteers as well as when raising funds. People want to be associated with things that are noteworthy and organizations that are doing great things. This chapter discusses the importance of attracting and retaining the right talent, and how sometimes magnetic leaders repel talent without even knowing it. The organization's ability to deliver on its promise to employees and customers is based on the actions as a leader. People do business with people they like and respect.
