ABSTRACT

This chapter shows that in order to advance your career as a performer, you must have the tools to market yourself. Course work, internships, letters of introduction, résumé recordings, job inter-views—all should be approached with one goal in mind: to gain the tools, skills, and contacts you will need to succeed. Some of these considerations may not seem to relate to you at this point. As time goes by, however, you will begin to realize how very versatile you are and success may bring additional needs. This is largely because of unexpected demands for your image and voice once you are considered popular talent. Then, you will find more applications for your abilities in multimedia, and greater distribution of your work worldwide.
