ABSTRACT

Even in the dead of winter we have to show up for work. Snow days are long gone, since we can work remotely. Winter excuses are few. Even cars start when the temperature is way below zero. Showing up for work is one thing, but what happens when you are frozen out at work? The symptoms of being frozen out are obvious and include:

No longer being included on e-mail distribution lists.

Not being invited to meetings.

Colleagues stop chatting with you in the coffee room.

Now what? Is there a hygiene problem? Do people think you are a jerk? Are you about to get fired and everyone knows it except you? If the answer is yes, you are a part of the corporate polar vortex and it is time to make changes.
