ABSTRACT

I have lots of friends on Facebook; some of them I even know. At a conference recently, one of my “friends” was sitting next to me. I recognized him by his photo and knew that he recently visited Costa Rica and likes Tom Petty and cabernet sauvignon. I could tell by our “friends in common” that I sort of should know him and his world. But what am I supposed to do now that he is sitting right next to me? I like him better as a virtual friend on Facebook, not a guy to have a latte with at a conference. He is glancing at me too.
