ABSTRACT
I could feel my heart beating in my throat as I considered the choices listed on the sheet of paper below, the pen gripped tightly in my right hand. Uncharacteristically, my entire hand was shaking, my heart was pounding, and I felt a little light-headed. I took a deep breath. The oxygen sent a calming wave through my body, down my limbs to calm my shaking fingers. My pen was paused above an application that I had, thus far, rapidly completed until I reached a question with a response containing three boxes. Here, I was asked to choose one of the following: “clothed,” “ semi-nude,” or “nude.”
