ABSTRACT

According to a 2009 study conducted by Zenger Folkman, women employees make up 53 percent of the workforce population when they enter the workplace as individual contributors. By the time they become supervisors, women represent only 37 percent of the population. With each rise in level within an organization, the population of women continues to shrink. Women compose 30 percent of the mid-manager roles, 26 percent of the vice presidents, 14 percent of senior executives, and just 3 percent of CEOs.1
