ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the use of a Self-Audit Tool that measures an organisation’s current status with respect to the International Safeguards. The Self-Audit Tool facilitates self-reflection through respondents considering the extent to which their organisation has made progress towards each aspect of the Safeguards. Data were collected using this instrument at the start and end of the research to assess the impact of this project. The results are presented and interpreted in relation to each of the Safeguards for both the deliverer and governor organisations. Overall the data demonstrates that progress was made in all areas, although there remains scope for further improvements and hence the journey is not complete. The benefits of using the instruments from the participants’ perspective are also outlined.

This chapter will present the quantitative data which demonstrates the impact of the International Safeguards for those organisations involved in the research project. Data from self-audits completed at the beginning and end of the project will be reported. Changes will be identified using graphs to depict the progress made in each area. Significant impacts beyond the project will also be identified.
