ABSTRACT

In this chapter we examine the emerging new political possibilities for post-development alternatives. These include social movements to remake democracy, radical organizations to resist occupation and dispossession and efforts to challenge and change economic forms that oppress and exploit. We look at both global social movements and alternative political economies to present different methods for making a living and coping with social change. We conclude by summarizing various theories and ideas from post-development scholarship, and encouraging readers to conceptualize the global economy in new ways.
