The Producer's Guild of America has become a trendsetter by publishing the Green Production Guide featuring nearly 2,000 companies that provide sustainable and energy saving products and services for film, television, and commercial productions. The Green Production Guide aims to take all media green one set at a time. The Green Production Guide features a searchable database of vendors with information about their green products, services, their production experience and what locations they serve. The new site also offers a Carbon Calculator and can be downloaded to help producers determine their production's carbon footprint and the "PGA Green Unified Best Practices" guide, which details best practices for sustainable film and television production". One tool is the Carbon Calculator: It lets the production company assess the environmental impact of a production based on information like utilities, transportation, and waste management to calculate your carbon footprint.
