ABSTRACT

The events of 9-11 above all raised the issue of the advisability and feasibility of limiting freedom of information in order to minimize its potential misuse. Also, in view of the claim being made here that the information we possess influences the meaning purported by natural language, the events of September 2001, which reshaped our perception of the world around us, have changed the language we speak. The focus of this chapter is on the latter issue.
