ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the prepping strategy of leaving an area to escape disaster (Bugging Out) that is practiced by both high-net-worth and middle-class preppers. For the extremely wealthy, bugging out practices include the purchase of secret strategic relocation destinations (homes in exclusive and remote areas) as well as purchasing curated luxury bug out bags that contain state-of-the-art survival equipment. Middle-class New York preppers also seek to escape disaster through more modest means such as leaving the city on foot to reach safe locations in the tri-state area and preparing their own bug out bags with more reasonably priced equipment.
