ABSTRACT

This chapter helps us to gain an understanding of professional development goals, professional development resources, multilevel development training programs, and integrating professional development into the company culture. Companies that succeed develop their human assets. These employees perform at high levels of competency and are proactive in improving the productivity and efficiency of their team. External professional development resources do not replace in-house training programs, but they are an important adjunct to the whole development process. Individuals attending conferences and workshops come back inspired with new ideas and are enthusiastic to see the results of implementing these ideas. Trade association conferences are one of the best resources for professional development. Training programs are an integral part of a company's culture because they are directly responsible for increasing productivity and efficiency. Multilevel training programs address the skill levels required for advancement to supervisory and management positions.
