ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concept discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book explains the causes of inequality affecting young people. It claims that the causes of inequality are inherent in structures and cultures as well as in society and how it works. The book explores the differences concerning growth models and welfare regimes. In general, societies have developed into a new condition of social inclusion, which explains why many young people have become excluded. Societal borders have arisen in the cities, separating the winners and losers of inequality. The book shows the different actualisation of them during the first post-war decades in comparison with the period since around 1980. It also shows how such causes, cultural as they can be called, can be inherent in, for example, norms, grading and outlook on people.
