ABSTRACT

The Internet is a worldwide medium with the ability to broadcast information and allow for immediate interaction between individuals separated by vast distances. At its inception, only a handful of visionaries were able to see the usefulness of the Web for communicating information and none could foresee implications for artists and designers, which are still unfolding. As it evolved over time, design for the Web demanded new technologies. Now the Web itself has extensive information on both HTML and CSS along with tutorials, samples, and excellent background information. Yet mastery of all the code in the world cannot take the place of good design and a well-planned and organized page. Bringing together your visual thinking and design skills along with the technical ability necessary to express them in a web design might at first seem overwhelming, but with time and effort can produce very satisfying results.
