ABSTRACT
An understanding of the inner workings and interaction of the various parts of a computer can help overcome roadblocks and even promote better use of digital media. While it is not difficult to understand the function of a keyboard, a monitor, or even a mouse, the case’s contents, which are the true computer, often remain mysterious. Knowing the individual components that make up a computer is one important element in knowing what to look for when purchasing a new computer, upgrading or troubleshooting an existing one. Understanding the basic nature of hardware components, as they related to computing, is vital for the digital artist and designer.
